If you tune into Sky TV or Freesat this Sunday at 4pm, there’s a good chance you’ll see Bridal Brunch – a wedding TV programme aimed at helping couples tie the knot on a shoestring budget.
What you may not realise is that the show’s presenter and wedding guru, Peter Marezana, is a former student of Christ the King Sixth Form College.
Bridal Brunch is the brainchild of Peter, and the result of many successful years working in the wedding industry. Closer to a cookery show than anything else, Bridal Brunch is a wedding show with a difference.
It focuses on helping couples create and decorate their dream wedding all by themselves, and is packed with hints, tips and advice on DIY nuptials.
“Couples are investing more of their own time to ensure their dream day looks the part, but want to avoid the nightmare cost that usually accompanies these celebrations,” Peter told the Gloucester Citizen.
“With finances tight, couples are taking a significantly more DIY approach to save costs, but lack insider information on how to do this. That’s where Bridal Brunch steps in.”
The show, which first aired on 1st June, is the culmination of years of hard work on Peter’s part, and it all started back at Christ the King.
Peter graduated from Christ the King in 2006 with A-Levels in Psychology, Sociology and English, before going on to the University of Worcester. It was there that he won a grant to start an events business, initially setting out to become a corporate events organiser.
“I found myself consistently getting referrals from my weddings. Over three years later and receiving calls from people asking for advice from all over the country, it became apparent that there was a demand for my skills that extended past my immediate locality,” Peter told us.
“With television as a medium of delivery I could fulfil that demand. Modelling my activities on cooking shows, Bridal Brunch was born.”
Peter has big plans for the show and for the Bridal Brunch brand, helping more couples get the wedding they deserve for a price they can afford. And as for Peter, he just wants to carry on doing what he loves. So what’s the secret to his success?
“Don’t let anyone, regardless of however qualified they may appear, tell you what you can’t be. As an adult, you are the ultimate arbiter of your own success or failure,” he said.
You can catch Bridal Brunch on Sky TV channel 212 and Freesat channel 401 every Sunday at 4pm. For more information about the show visit bridalbrunch.co.uk.
